Can’t Remove Emotions

How many times have you wished that you could get rid of emotions you don’t want?

Each day we are influenced by a range of emotions and they can change from moment to moment. And sometimes when we feel emotions that make us uncomfortable, we’d do anything to escape them.

Unfortunately, there’s no switch to instantly turn off our emotions. Since most of the emotions you experience occur almost instinctively, it’s difficult to control how you feel in any given moment. Whenever you are confronted with an emotion which is making you feel or think something bad, you can’t just force it out of your mind. Suppression of your emotion will only lead to more distress.

So the best way to deal with emotions you don't want is by accepting them and building awareness around that experience. By learning to accept your psychological experiences, you can eventually change your attitude and emotional state.

As an example, don't strive to remove the anxiety or assess, instead accept that these deeper feelings are often appropriate responses to certain situations and they should not prevent you from moving forward in your life.
